Candy 04:34
I’m crying out like a baby Face deep in pillow Aching for some sweet Candy… I want it now, Daddy, give it to me I’m giving in even when I didn’t ask for it Still you wave it in front of me Candy… I want it now, Daddy give it to me Oh why can’t I say no to you? Why can’t you say no to me? Something so sweet has soured into co-dependency Time to breath, learn to leave, I need to miss you Candy… I want it now, Daddy give it to me The child in me can’t always see Past the taste of this gentle poisoning Candy… I want it now, Daddy, give it to me Oh daddy don’t take it away from me You know its bitter sweet, I want it all for me Candy… I want it now, the life the death of you and me

Redefining 04:49
I did it again, Bit off more than I could chew, And I’m choking On the thought of /stepping back from this Knowing that I cannot share your kiss How could I lie? You’re my kinda guy You give till you bleed, And then there’s me Needles in hand, drawing all I need Back to school, time to put others before me I’m still hungry, To taste all I see It’s necessary, For a spirit free If we can’t find compatibility… Can I please just keep you close to me? Are we too full, To finish this meal? Time will tell, If we can heal Damage that built/ a mountain of regret Let’s be conscious/ no falling back into our past
3.

Superior 03:43
How’s the view, When I climb on top of you? You can stare, As long as you want to Don’t hold back, Give me all of your poetry (I will resist… to see if you persist) Feel your truth, move with me I’ll keep the beat You don’t even have to be sweet Because I like you (haha) Ravish me, Penetrate Authentically Dedicate… Your depth and your gifts to me Magnify love, Let go of your fears, be free (I will resist… to see if you persist) Liberate me… I’ll let you be a man I chose you baby I believe its you who can (x2)

about

Hat Trick is live studio set release on 01.28.12 from rising singer songwriter Laura Ivancie.

In late January 2012, Laura called a few friends to come and play with her down at Wavelength Studios in Salem, Oregon. Laura played an acoustic Breedlove guitar and sang vocals as Jordan Appling played drums, Julio Appling played upright bass and Dave Dernovsek played keys (Live). Dave overdubbed electric guitar. Laura overdubbed some backing vocals. Jason Carter engineered a smooth mix, making Hat Trick the official live studio debut for Laura Ivancie. Hat Trick features three powerful, sultry originals: “Candy”, “Redefining:”, and “Superior”. Hat Trick sizzles on with soul, paying homage to Peggy Lee’s “Fever,” written by Eddie Cooley and Otis Blackwell (1958).

about

Laura Ivancie Portland, Oregon

When a softly spoken singer-songwriter with guitar in hand lists Ani Difranco as one of her primary influences; describes her music as “rooted in blues;” shreds her ‘good girl image’ and starts experimenting with the succulent sounds of electronic strings, synths, trip-hop and dance beats, you know you’re in for an interesting listen! ... more
